Newly released bodycam footage from Britney Spears‘ DUI arrest in March revealed what she said about her mom to the cops.
As we previously reported, the pop star admitted to having a mimosa hours before she got behind the wheel, and California Highway Patrol officers pulled her over for driving erratically on the 101 Freeway in Ventura County. She also fessed up to taking Adderall, Prozac, and Lamictal that same day. That is probably what led to an officer giving Brit Brit a warning amid her arrest about how it is “extremely dangerous to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both,” and she could be “charged with murder” if she had killed someone, according to a video published by TMZ on Thursday. But what came out of the singer’s mouth next is what’s shocking!

Following the warning, Britney chimed in to tell him:
“Yes, sir, I know. My mom actually killed a man on a bike, but I never did that before.”
When the cop attempted to continue talking, the Crossroads actress interrupted again to say:
“And nothing happened to her! … Why didn’t they arrest her? How come my mom got away with everything?”
And Britney isn’t making things up here! For those who don’t recall, Lynne accidentally hit a 12-year-old boy, Anthony Winters, while taking her injured brother, Sonny Bridges, to a hospital in Kentwood, Louisiana, in 1975. Sadly, the young child did not survive the accident. She recalled in her 2008 memoir, Through the Storm:
“The roads were slick with rain, and as I was rounding the curve, an oncoming car was coming in the left lane. In a split second I could see two young boys riding their bikes on the road. In that flash of time, I had a sick sensation that I would hit one of them, that it would be impossible not to, as I knew my car would not stop, no matter how hard I slammed on the brakes. One boy managed to get his bike out of the way, but his friend, a 12-year-old boy whose house was right by the scene of the accident, was hit.”
Ultimately, Lynne didn’t face any charges over the accident. So Britney wasn’t wrong, but it was a random thing to bring up! And that wasn’t all the performer had to say! She also dropped another jaw-dropping claim about her mom:
“My mom tried to kill me.”
