Britney Spears got hitched over the weekend. But no, it’s not quite what you may be thinking!
The Toxic crooner is still coming down from the end of her marriage to ex Sam Asghari, of course. But on Sunday night, she popped up on Instagram with a shocking new announcement: that she got married… to herself! Huh?!
So, in the first of two inneresting IG posts, the 42-year-old pop star rocked a beautiful ivory gown along with a veil. As she posed in the wedding-adjacent attire, she played Sting‘s legendary song Fields Of Gold in the background. Then, while posing and moving around for the camera, she wrote THIS big announcement in the caption:
“The day I married myself … Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done !!!”
Whoa!

That’s not the only fascinating IG move she made on Sunday night, though! In a second post published about an hour later on her page, the Baby One More Time crooner set another video to the tune of Sheryl Crow‘s song Run, Baby, Run. The content was key there, too — Spears wore a pair of knee-high black boots while flipping her hair and spinning around into a dance on what appeared to be a private plane. And the caption told the whole story there, too! She wrote:
“Turks and Caicos here I come.”

Obviously, the whole thing has us wondering on multiple levels. To imagine Spears getting hitched yet again after the demise of her marriage to Asghari is definitely an eye-catching move, and it was a shocker to see her claim to be “married” when we pulled up her IG page early on Monday morning! Ha! But clearly, the pop princess is just having a little bit of fun. Nothing wrong with that! Hope she has an amazing island vacation either way!!
