How Britney Spears 'Finally Decided On Her Own' To Receive Mental Health Treatment

insight into britney spears' decision to enter treatment facility

Following Britney Spearsreported admission to a mental health facility, a source has shared with Entertainment Tonight details into the singer’s decision to enter treatment.
The pop star has been on an indefinite hiatus from her second Las Vegas residency since January when she announced her 66-year-old father Jamie Spears suffered from a ruptured colon, leaving her to be “distraught,” according to TMZ.

As she receives treatment, the insider revealed more info on the Toxic singer’s facility admission:

“She seems to be on a constant roller coaster and can’t get off. She is finally getting the help she needs. She is the one who finally decided she needed help and made the decision to manage her own emotions. She finally realized it was affecting her everyday life and even her relationships. She wants to feel better and more relaxed and taking time to focus on herself truly is her only option. It has been a rough year. While those closest to her have encouraged her to get help, she finally decided on her own it was time.”

While it was initially reported on Wednesday that the 37-year-old had checked herself into the center a week ago, and would be staying for 30 days, the mother of two shared her first Instagram post since January also on Wednesday with a telling caption:

“We all need to take a little time for a little ‘me time.'”

The confidant added:

“Her father’s illness has frightened her. He has always been her savior and her support system and it doesn’t seem that he is getting better. She has always trusted her father in every way and is finding it difficult to deal with the possibility of losing him.”

Thankfully, her kids, Jayden James and Sean Preston Federline, are “safe” according to their father Kevin Federline, who commended his ex-wife for getting the help she needs via a statement by his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan to The Blast.
The ET source continued, sharing that the children remain her priority despite her ongoing issues:

“She has had little communication to the outside world and spends most of her time with the staff and kids. She’s truly isolating herself. She is painfully protective of her children and doesn’t trust anyone with them. She worries constantly about them. The children are doing fine. She loves them so much and tries so hard with them.”

However, the Grammy winner’s relationship with longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari may be feeling some strain on Brit’s end:

“She hasn’t felt emotionally available for the relationship. She has been white-knuckling this time just trying to hold it together.”

Despite the songstress possibly being “emotionally unavailable” at this time, her man is sticking by her side, sharing to his IG stories on Wednesday how “inspired” he was by his GF for wanting help:

“It isn’t weakness. It’s a sign of absolute strength, people should only be inspired by this, at least I am.”

Sounds like she has a great support system!!
Miz Spears is also getting her fair share of support from another musical icon, Celine Dion, who sent well wishes and “courage” via Entertainment Tonight:

“Right now she needs courage, so I’m sending her all my courage, and my inner strength, and my stability, and the love and respect I do have for other artists. It’s hard sometimes… but, you know, when you go [through] something hard, especially [with] a family member, you find strength within yourself you did not know you had. I do not know her so personally, but, after a while, when you go through something tough, you come back stronger.”

So sweet!!

Remember — you’re stronger than yesterday, Britney!!
