While many of us are excited to have Brittany Murphy‘s memory revived on the small screen, there’s one person who does NOT want to see a biopic happen!
Angelo Bertolotti, Brittany’s father, says he has plans to sue Lifetime after the network announced plans to release a biopic on the late star.
Bertolotti said:
“Lifetime has not been authorized to produce the true story of Brittany Murphy. I intend to litigate Lifetime in a court of law.”
A spokesperson for Brittany’s mother, Sharon Murphy, stated she was not consulted for The Brittany Murphy Story either and she has not cooperated with the production in any way.
Brittany’s dad did not explain his reasoning for opposing the biopic.
Lifetime has yet to comment on the threats of litigation and the biopic is still set to air on September 6th.
