Broadway Backwards 7 Breaks The Gender Rules And Raises $320K For Charity!

That’s how you do it, Broadway babies!
The seventh Broadway Backwards event took place Monday and some of Broadway’s heaviest hitters performed during the gender-bending musical night.
The event featured same sex pairings in normally heterosexual duets, leaving the words and lyrics mostly unchanged. The event raises LGBT awareness as well as gives the gay community a chance to see their life stories played out on stages.
Plus, who doesn’t want to see King of Siam and Anna as men?!
Broadway babe Telly Leung summed up the night beautifully:

The whole concert is about looking at things in a different way and re-examining preconceptions of not only theatre music, but [also] preconceptions of ‘alternative lifestyles.’ Hopefully people walk away from the theatre and do that in their lives the way we re-examine the songs├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥re-examine our lives and how we see the world.

Other Broadway superstars that performed include Robin de Jesús, Betty Buckley and Andrew Rannells. The event raised $320K for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, capping off a FABulous night!
