Aw, we thought they were so cute together!
According to People on Wednesday, a source confirms Dakota Johnson, 36, and Role Model, 29, are no longer seeing each other. And apparently they broke up “a while ago”!!
What happened? Did they just fizzle out??
It’s somewhat shocking since this news comes right after the release of their flirty recording studio exchange on his new song Love I You.

As we reported a couple weeks ago, Role Model — whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury — opened up to Nylon magazine about the actress’ role in his new track. Per his account, Dakota showed up at the studio one day while he was working on new music. Sensing their chemistry (or possibly just seizing a smart opportunity), a producer suggested Dakota voice some flirty lines for the song, but Role Model was hesitant at first.
He shared with Nylon:
“I had a lot of names to pick from for [the voiceover], and then Dakota came to the studio one day, and [my guitarist and producer] was like, ‘Why don’t you do it?’ I was like, ‘Stop! We’re not mixing work and relationships. [But] she was like, ‘I’ll do it,’ and stood right up and got in the booth and knocked it out better than we could have imagined. So I was like, OK, if she’s down — I mean, that’s an amazing cameo.”
Well, yeah! Just ask Lily Allen. Dakota makes the perfect surprise pop-in!

To refresh your memory, in the bridge of the song Love I You, Role Model can be heard saying:
“Hey, I think you’re perfect”
Then you hear Dakota responding:
“You say that to everyone.”
To which he replies:
“Kay, well is it working?”
And she finishes it up, saying:
“Yeah, but don’t tell anyone.”
Super cheeky!

The full song debuted on Role Model’s new Chuck Timely & The Hourglass album. And now it seems that’ll be the last of any Dakota and Role Model lovage fans get to see.
The two first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted getting cozy during dinner in December of 2025. We heard their chemistry was off the charts, and they were eager to explore where their passion could take them. By April of 2026, sources close to the pair confirmed their romance was “definitely more than a fling.” Sadly, while it may have become more than a flash in the pan, it’s clearly not stretching into anything more serious.
As of now, no further details have been confirmed regarding the reasoning behind their split.
