Cardi B wants all you haters to know that she’s the real deal!
The Grammy-winning rapper took to social media on Thursday to set the record straight on the speculation that she doesn’t write her own lyrics. In a sharply-worded message, the 26-year-old responded to a Twitic who questioned why the artist is on the Billboard Top 100 Songwriters charts.
Cardi’s answer was simple. She wrote:
“[It’s] Because I do write a lot of my s**t that’s the thing.”
Bardi ain’t no product, y’all. She’s an *artiste*!

The superstar acknowledged that she does have “a couple” writers that “help with hooks” — “just like every other artist” does. Unlike the imitators, however, Cardi said she “wrote plenty of songs on [her] album [e]specially [her] mixtape,” adding:
“Ya just flip s**t and ya want to believe the f**k s**t so bad but EAT IT UP BITCH!”

This isn’t the first time Cardi has had to defend her artistic talents. After she made history as the first woman to win Best Rap Album at the Grammys this year, the Invasion of Privacy artist clapped back at the many haters who claimed she was undeserving of the honor.
In a since-deleted Instagram video, Bardi insisted that she “f**king worked [her] ass off” and “locked [her]self in the studio for three months” to produce the album that went on to be certified double Platinum in October 2018, telling her critics:
“It’s not my style to put people down to uplift somebody else. I’ve been taking a lot of s**t today and I saw a lot of bulls**t last night. I’m sick of this s**t. I worked hard for my motherf**king album. I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow’ and everyone was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed.’ Now this year’s a f**king problem? My album went two-times platinum. Every chart that there was, my album was top 10. No. 1 album as well. I f**king worked my ass off and locked myself in the studio for three months. Didn’t go to sleep in my own bed sometime for four days straight pregnant!”
The momma of one also admitted that she cries whenever she listens to Invasion of Privacy because of all the hard work that went into it. So, last thing gurl needs is people questioning whether she even wrote the lyrics.

Meanwhile, the songstress recently dropped her latest single Press and is expected to drop her second studio album later this year.
Say what you will about Cardi, but she’s talented AF and works hard for her success.
Haters can’t take that away from her!
