Carly Gregg has been found guilty on all charges…
As we’ve been following, the 14-year-old shocked the world when she was arrested following the murder of her mother Ashley Smylie and attempted murder of her stepdad Heath Smylie (pictured above, inset). The Mississippi native was shown in recently released CCTV footage entering her home and grabbing a handgun, then casually walking to her mom’s room and killing her. After this, she went into the kitchen and texted a friend asking if they’d ever seen a dead body — all while waiting for her stepdad to come home.

She tried to shoot her stepfather as well — but he survived, and the teen fled the home. She was promptly arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and tampering with evidence. On Friday morning while being tried as an adult, she was found guilty on all of these charges and sentenced just minutes later.
Despite her attorneys claiming she’d been in a mental health crisis and hearing voices, as well as dissociating through the entire murder, it wasn’t enough to convince a jury. She was sentenced to LIFE in prison on the fifth day of her trial. Whoa…
You can see the verdict and sentencing around the 4 hour 20 minute mark (below):
Carly was given the possibility of parole in the future, and according to Mississippi’s laws will make her eligible in 25 years. So despite getting life in prison, this girl is so young she could actually get out when she’s still in her 30s!
