Chris Pratt's Friend & Co-Star Cedric Jones Dies Suddenly At 46

Cedric Jones has sadly died at just 46 years old.

The personal trainer-turned actor, who was known for appearing alongside pal Chris Pratt in 2016’s The Magnificent Seven and 2022’s The Terminal List, has passed away, according to a sad report from DailyMail.com.

The outlet shared that his death was “sudden,” and has left his wife and three children reeling. However, details beyond that are limited out of respect for the family.

How incredibly awful. That’s just far too young.

The inspiring figure had risen from experiencing homelessness in Compton during his younger years, to eventually becoming a gym owner after getting into fitness. He ran the celebrity hotspot Beastie Boxing gym in Manhattan Beach.

On Friday, he was paid tribute by the official Beastie Boxing Instagram page, which wrote about his legacy:

“Cedric had dedicated his life to helping people in and out of the gym. As found of both Beastie Boxing, and the BMoved Foundation, he inspired and helped people achieve what they previously thought impossible.”

Days before that, Magnificent Seven director Antoine Fuqua director shared a video of Cedric on his own page, writing the following:

“R.I.P to my good brother and friend. You were always the light in the room and on the set. You will be deeply missed and forever loved. MAY THE WIND ALWAYS BE UNDER YOUR WINGS CHAMP as you ascend into the Heavens. Dream team forever”

So, so sad. Cedric also appeared in 2015’s Southpaw, which was directed by Antoine. You can read more about his incredible legacy HERE.

As of this writing Chris Pratt has not yet addressed the disheartening news, but it’s clear how much he was loved. Our hearts are with his family. Rest in peace, Cedric.
