Y’all. John Legend is not Chrissy Teigen‘s boss. He’s her husband.
The All Of Me singer has been doing a lot of TV interviews lately, and Chrissy couldn’t help but notice something very annoying kept happening.

She tweeted Tuesday night:
“I feel like a very common question when interviewing john is basically ‘how do you deal with your wife’ and … I don’t love it.”
She goes on to clarify it almost seems like they’re asking if she gets his permission to say the “crazy” things she says.
Ew. No, that is not OK. Not only are they insulting her with their implication she’s “out of control” but they’re also being generally sexist about what a marriage is.
In a good marriage the two halves are EQUAL. They get each other’s backs. They do NOT ask permission to be themselves; they married one another because they LIKED who the other is. Ugh.

I’m not mad at anyone who has asked this. I get that we are very different. It happens a lot though and I’m just not very into it. You don’t ask me how I deal with watching msnbc every night or what I do while he’s silent for a week

Anyway, interviewers: don’t ask men about getting their wives under control. But DEFINITELY ask Chrissy about that week of silence!
