Christian Bale has said that he isn’t worried about the Chinese censoring his new movie, The Flowers of War.
The movie is about the Japanese army’s 1937 rampage through Nanjing.
Bale said:

“I just do what I do. What happens after I’m wrapped is always out of my hands. It doesn’t matter which country that’s in, which scenes get chosen, which scenes get cut, that has nothing to do with me.”

True. We guess once everything is done, an actor can only hope they did their best and that everyone else doesn’t screw anything up.
The film’s dialogue is split between english and mandarin, and Bale even needed a translator to work with the director, Zhang.
Bale said:

“I have a great sense of adventure, and whatever adventure I can take out of moviemaking, I’m going to.
So I hope that not just with China but with internationally that we’ll start to get much more mixing of nationalities and film cultures. And I think we’re going to get some really interesting results from that.”

We’ll be interested to see if there is a huge difference between the Chinese and English versions of the film.
