Criss Angel Speaks For Himself

Illusionist Criss Angel‘s much-hyped and long-awaited Crique du Soleil show debuted last month for audiences to preview at the Luxor in Las Vegas.

And, unfortunately for him, the show has gotten some really bad reviews..

The show, Believe, will officially premiere at the Luxor on Halloween, though it was originally scheduled to open on September 12th and the delay is causing people to wonder if it’s going to suck.

So, now, Angel is doing damage control.

Holly Madison‘s “very good friend” is speaking out about his new show and trying to defend it. He says some people were confused about parts of the show that weren’t supposed to be illusions, like the Cirque performers being suspended using cables above the stage.

In a new interview, he says, “I never set out to try to fool anybody. Those people are hanging from a line. They├óΓé¼Γäóre not supposed to be levitating or flying. They├óΓé¼Γäóre hanging from, you know, a typical Cirque rig.”

As for the show being ready, he says it’s not.

Criss admits, “Is the show done? No, it’s not done. We have a lot to do in the weeks coming. We have work to do but it’s not unexpected. We need a period of time to evolve and develop and to perfect and to utilize the audience as a barometer to be able to go through that process.”

But Angel thinks the show will be ready in time for Halloween.

He adds, “I think we├óΓé¼Γäóre in really good shape. People don├óΓé¼Γäót stand (and applaud) if they hate something. People don├óΓé¼Γäót stand if they feel that they didn├óΓé¼Γäót get their money├óΓé¼Γäós worth.”

Tickets for Believe will range in prices from $59 to $150, plus taxes and fees.

The show will be performed twice a night, five times a week for the next ten years or longer.

He’s working hard for his money!
