One minute she’s saying that she chose to be gay, the next she’s revealing that she’s shaved her head bald for an upcoming role!
Cynthia Nixon is nothing if not surprising!
Check out that bald head, you guys!
That takes guts, especially when you’re known for your head of red hair! She did it for her role in the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Wit where she plays cancer stricken poetry professor Vivian Bearing.
Here’s what she had to say about it:
‘I thought it was kind of gonna be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day! It’s got kind of a five o’clock shadow, and you don’t want to go on with that. I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like. I like it; I don’t think I’m gonna keep it forever.’
It opens Jan. 26th!
We think it’s totally bold and a cool move when they might have been able just to use a bald cap or something!
