What a terrible episode of television…
Dakota Johnson starred on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, and while she brought as much as she could to the sketch show, it was just a poorly written hour and a half of comedic misses.
The 50 Shades of Grey star’s monologue hinted that the remainder of the night would follow suit, which, unfortunately, was not the case.
Weekend Update continued to be the worst part of the showcase, with Colin Jost and Michael Che churning out “jokes” that simply were not funny. After every news piece we thought we had made it through the worst of it, but each punchline fell flatter than the one before it.
Similarly, none of the sketches were that great either.

In fact, the best scene of the night was only funny because of Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, Bobby Moynihan, and Dakota’s abilities to make characters out of virtually nothing.
With what’s most likely the strongest cast in years, Colin, Michael, and most of the other writers of the show deserve to be fired.
Although, Dakota’s parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson showed up for the monologue, so that was a welcomed surprise!
