Dancing With The Stars Dedicates Episode 5 To Boston Marathon Tragedy

The unfortunate Boston Marathon tragedy has left 176 wounded and 3 dead, and while Dancing with the Stars aired on the night of the horrific disaster, the dancers, celebrities and judges dedicated episode 5 to the event.
Before the dancers began doing their thing, host Tom Bergeron said:

“Our thoughts are with everyone in Boston tonight. I have family members and many friends there. My heart is with you.”

Co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet added:

“Our entire cast is thinking about you…Hopefully we can still have an entertaining night of competition.”

Last night’s episode had nine couples left in the competition, and while they had a Side-By-Side Challenge, which included lining up with a pair of professional partners, Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy took advantage of that and rose to the top!!
The Disney star and her partner along with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Anna Trebunskaya did an Argentine Tango that garnered themselves a grand total of 29 points out of 30.
But don’t think our other top dancers, Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough didn’t do much. They were able to get 27 points with dance partners Henry Byalikov and Anna Trebunskaya.
Jacoby Jones and his dancing buddy, Karina Smirnoff walked away with 26 points as they were joined by Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Anna Trebunskaya, and Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas with Tony Dovolani and Witney Carson managed to score 25 points for their samba.
Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd were joined by Tristan MacManus and Chelsie Hightower and were able to get 24 points, while Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson with Tony Dovolani and Emma Slater, and Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold with Tristan MacManus and Emma Slater racked up 21 points.
Unfortunately for D.L. Hughley and Cheryl Burke with their partners Sasha Farber and Chelsie Hightower, and Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess with Sasha Farber and Emma Slater only managed to score 18 points.
The fourth elimination is set for tonight, and while we keep Boston in our prayers, let’s hope both D.L and Andy hope that they don’t get eliminated!!
Ch-ch-check out the clip (above) of Zendaya and Val doing their Argentine Tango!!
