NFL Draft Dramaaaa! Deion Sanders' Nepo Baby Son Threw A Luxe Party To Celebrate... Then Didn't Get Drafted!

Thursday night should have been the greatest night of Shedeur Sanders‘ life… but it turned out to be the most embarrassing!

So, if you don’t know the name, Shedeur is the now-former quarterback at the University of Colorado. He was a college football superstar for the CU Buffs, and played with another elite athlete you probably know named Travis Hunter — who got picked second overall during Thursday night’s first round of the NFL Draft.

Oh, yeah, AND Shedeur’s dad is none other than Deion Sanders, a former NFL superstar himself who is also the Buffs’ head coach. Sooo, Shedeur is a nepo baby extraordinaire! (A super talented one, but still a nepo baby! Just saying!)

Anyways, Thursday night’s first round of the always-anticipated NFL Draft was supposed to be Shedeur’s coronation. The biggest college football stars (like Hunter) get picked by pro teams in the first round every single year and make BANK from day one with massive contracts and huge on-field expectations. (For reference, Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes was picked in the first round back in 2017.) But this year?? Shedeur’s name wasn’t called in round one. At all.

Womp womp!

Normally, this wouldn’t matter much. Not every college football star can get picked in the first round. Heck, Travis Kelce was a third round pick back when he was selected!!

But this year’s snub proved SUPER awkward because Shedeur threw a super lavish party on Thursday night for his friends and family… only for his name NOT go get called by any team during the shindig! Oops!

After getting snubbed by all 32 teams during Thursday night’s first round, Deion’s son shared a video to his Instagram account in which he admitted his disappointment over what happened. He started by saying:

“We all didn’t expect this, of course. But, I feel like with God, anything’s possible, everything’s possible. I don’t feel like this happened, you know, for no reason.”

And then, he said not being selected will only push him to work harder:

“All this is of course fuel to the fire and under no circumstance we all know this shouldn’t have happened, but we understand we on to bigger and better things.”

The former CU Buffs star then concluded by noting that Friday — which holds the second day of the NFL Draft — will be the big day when he hears his name called:

“Tomorrow’s the day, we going to be happy regardless. Legendary.”

Honestly, that’s a really professional and mature way of looking at things after such a big disappointment! And we’re not the only ones who feel that way, either. Down in the comments of that IG post, former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade wrote:

“That’s how you handle things.”

D-Wade ain’t wrong! Still, tho, what a rough first day.

Oh, and as of the end of the second round on Friday afternoon, Shedeur still hadn’t been drafted.

Obviously, that could change at any moment whenever a team decides to pick him. But still, what a tough weekend!
