Dionne Bromfield Slams Amy Winehouse VMA Tribute

We hope she changed her mind after actually seeing the tribute last night.

Dionne Bromfield, the goddaughter of Amy Winehouse, took to her Twitter yesterday to share her disdain with the choices MTV made in artists to pay tribute to her mentor. Of course, at the time that she posted, there was a lot of speculation as to who would actually pay tribute to her, but Dionne wanted to make it clear that she wasn’t happy about it.

She first shot off a tweet about Jesse J, which she later took down, claiming that she was a poor choice to bring life to Amy’s work. Then, instead of insisting who shouldn’t be on stage, she offered up some suggestions on who should. She tweeted:

“Should be Lauren Hill, Jennifer Hudson or the dap kings should be doing Tributes to Amy at VMA dappy kings supported Amy when she toured USA”

While those all would’ve been great, we thought that Bruno Mars was an EXCELLENT choice to perform one of Amy’s hits and the footage of her working with Tony Bennett was just so touching.

Turn the positive to negative, Dionne. They did good by her.
