Mary Poppins continues to stay in people’s hearts since its 1964 release.
Now, Disney is dusting of Ms. Poppins for a new flick chronicling how Walt Disney got the rights to the book.
The new film, Saving Mr. Banks, will show how close Mary Poppins‘ author, Aussie P.L. Travers, was to her prized book.
So who are the megastars slated to play Disney and Travers?
None other than Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep!
While nothing is finalized, the two actors are rumored to be in talks for the roles. Disney has been working on the film for quite awhile and it would love to have some star power attached to the tale.
Mary Poppins was loved by viewers but Travers HATED the animation parts, and refused to sell her works to Disney from then on.
