Sold!
$1.7 million later, the Fashion for Sandy Relief Initiative auction presented by CFDA and Vogue has come to a close, and we are totally shocked by some of the results!
Who would have thought that a one-week internship with DKNY PR Girl Aliza Litch would garner more bids (34 in fact!) than meeting Anna Wintour at the 2013 Met Gala (a paltry 4 bids)?!
Of course the starting bid may have affected the number of people who could have feasibly partaken in this auction.
But still! You can’t put a price on a meeting with La Wintour!
Nor on a meeting with supermodel extraordinaire Heidi Klum (only 9 bids)!
Is this a good way to gauge one’s popularity in the fashion world?
Because if so, then DKNY’s PR Girl can consider herself the Regina George of the cool couture crowd.
Meanwhile, Carine Roitfeld and Daphne Guinness are hereby relegated to the band geeks’ table. Because sketches of them from the Barneys and Disney Electric Holiday collabo failed to get even one bid.
And although 22 people wanted to kick it with Diane von Furstenberg at her private headquarters, only three wanted to meet Vera Wang, go to her fall show, and receive a $5,000 gift certificate.
Ouch.
Anyway, congrats to all the winners, especially whoever gets to have tea with Grace Coddington–we bet her hair is full of secrets!
