Doctors Go Digital With Electronic Prescriptions

Doctors are quickly moving away from the old school prescription pad.
Over a third of the nations doctors are now using electronic prescriptions.
At the end of last year, 36% of all prescriptions were written on a computer by a doctor and sent directly to the pharmacy.
For patients, that means that by the time you get to the pharmacy, your prescription could be ready! And for pharmacists, that means no longer trying to read doctor’s indecipherable hand writing.
Electronic Rx writing also means more patients actually take their meds. Often people lose the slip, forget about it, or plain don’t want to spend the money.
Now, doctors can electronically prescribe a brand that is cheapest for a person’s insurance.
Also, there’s less chance of stealing a prescription pad and forging a fake prescription for super viagra or something. LOLz!
