Donald Trump clearly has no soul.
On Thursday morning, POTUS tweeted (gasp!) that Puerto Rico itself is to blame for its current post-hurricane crisis, while suggesting that he “cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!”

Keep in mind, more than 80% of the island still doesn’t have electricity and many don’t have cell service or access to clean water. Hurricane Maria hit just three weeks ago.

Celebrities and politicians have responded to the threat by arguing that Puerto Rico needs more aid, not less (obviously).

You have no soul. Your words echo of the evil that you are. You may abandon these citizens without food, clean water + power, but we won’t. https://t.co/0cPYQltNuF

Dear Congress, people r dying. Their blood will be on your hands. Americans are frightened because their leader is unhinged. Do something! https://t.co/bkSrHx9S9D

This.
Relief aid in the form of a LOAN is unacceptable.
Congress, all eyes on you. Will you ease the suffering of your fellow citizens? https://t.co/kqOSfQXNhx

Yes, we can. Because Puerto Rico is in America. Which makes FEMA, the Military, & the First Responders employees of Puerto Rico. 😁 https://t.co/DCkHllctD1

Step up & do your job, @realDonaldTrump. Stop lying about how well things are going in Puerto Rico. Stop trying to avoid responsibility.

Puerto Rico is still facing a humanitarian crisis. @realDonaldTrump seems more worried about blaming hurricane victims than helping them.

The people of #PuertoRico are Americans. Just like the people of Florida and the people of Texas. You never leave Americans in need.

@POTUS your comments about Puerto Rico are unbecoming of a Commander in Chief they seem more to come from a “Hater in Chief”.

Just in: A reader told me she called WH switchboard to object to Trump’s Puerto Rico tweets. WH receptionist told her WaPo was “fake news.”
