Well, that’s reassuring!
Donny Osmond‘s rep announced on Wednesday that the performer has to undergo surgery because of a bleeding lesion on his right vocal cord.
For singers, that’s such a scary situation because their livelihoods rely solely on their voice. So, if something were to go wrong with the operation, their careers could be over in a snap!

But luckily for the 57-year-old, the doctor performing his procedure has successfully worked with other artists.
Dr. Steven M. Zeitel will be operating on the musician, which is great news because the Harvard Medical School professional has executed similar surgeries on Adele, Sam Smith, and Lionel Richie — all of which have gone swimmingly!
Phew!
Sadly, the procedure will halt Donny’s solo shows in September, but by October he should be back in action for his Donny & Marie performance in Las Vegas!
