Ellen Page Talks Coming Out & How Hollywood's Attempt To Keep Her In The Closet 'Eroded Her Soul'

The lovely actress, who publicly came out on Valentine’s Day of last year, recently revealed to Out Magazine how the pressures of keeping up appearances in Hollywood almost broke her spirit.

The Out 100 Entertainer of the Year revealed:

“No one’s ever been so direct as to say, ├óΓé¼╦£You’re gay, so we’re gonna hide it.’ But there’s an unspoken thing going on. People believe it’s the right thing to do for your career. They don’t realize it’s eroding your soul. It was eventually about me being like, ‘Wait, why am I listening to that? At what point did I let those things become important?'”

What a great lesson! It’s always best to listen to your heart no matter what people may think!
Ellen added:

“I was sad, honestly. And obviously that’s a very personal thing to say, but I say it to encourage whatever other people are feeling. Very sad, isolated, a lot of anxiety. No more.”
