Don’t feel slighted, T-Swizzle!

After the fall out of the 2006 MTV Europe Music Award stage crashing, Kanye West visited the Johnjay and Rich radio show in July 2007 and rants chats about award shows, being emotion and his need for validation.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On being clASSy:
Coming off the European Awards and all the backlash I was getting. People not really understanding my passion. And understanding that these award shows is wrestling. And that it’s not real. You take an artist that connects with 20,000 fans or an artist that makes a song like Roses, where somebody’s mother passes away and they say that song helped me or make songs like Spacious and they say that song helped me through my job and you have me come to an award show and tell me I’m about to win and say ‘Nah, we’re just gonna give you this over here’. It’s like, I’m not a pop artist like that. You know what I’m saying? I don’t have media training. I’m emotional. And what’s good though is because of all that backlash, a lot of people didn’t like me. So I went in and made music like people that like me. It made it like I was a new artist and had to win them over and now, I believe I’m making the best album I’ve ever delivered with Graduation.On the Dixie Chicks’ undeserved 2007 Grammy:
I wasn’t even up against them. Gnarls Barkley was up against them. But, that just shows you my dedication as a fan. As a music critic. How does Gnarls Barkley not walk away with album of the year or song of the year?
I looked to see, though, right when Dixie Chicks won. I said ‘Do you want me to run up on stage? I don’t care. I’ll run up on stage for you and be like, oh no, Gnarls Barkley should have won.’ They would have been some captions in there like, ‘why was Kanye West on stage.? He wasn’t even nominated.’ But they won’t understand that I’m a fan that’s too close. I’m a glitch in this matrix. Man, this music for me is like a sport. And the only thing we got for championships is, like, award shows. So if something goes wrong, I’m gonna scream at the ref.”
We haven’t see a temper tantrum that bad since watching Supernanny!
