Ethan Slater Dodges Ariana Grande 'Girlfriend' Question Amid Breakup Rumors!

Ethan Slater‘s lips are sealed about the status of his relationship with Ariana Grande!

Lately, rumors have been circulating that the pair broke up. One insider claimed their relationship became “unhealthy” and “more than a little toxic,” so they have been “on and off for most of this year.” Yikes. However, another source shut the speculation down. They insisted Ari and Ethan are still going strong and are opting to keep their romance private amid the Wicked: For Good press tour. Hmm. The (former?) couple hasn’t outright denied the rumors themselves, and apparently doesn’t plan to right now.

Ethan stopped by the Today show on Friday to promote the new musical film, and he was asked about what it was like working alongside his “girlfriend every day.” What a perfect opportunity to confirm or deny all the rumors going around. The Broadway star sort of dodged the question, though. He said:

“Well, I mean, the entire cast is incredible. And Ariana is brilliant. And Cynthia is remarkable. So, getting to watch those two women perform at such a high level from up close. I will say, though, it’s been pretty special rolling it out. I said that we filmed it years ago, and I didn’t forget how amazing their performances were, but getting to watch it with an audience — “

When interrupted and asked if the actor watched the film during the screenings, he replied:

“I was really excited to just watch it and see it. But you feel the energy of the audience. Yeah, I’ve sat in on the screenings. Yeah, you watch it. It’s fun. And I’m so proud of everybody I got to work with. We’re like a family, so it’s fun to cheer everyone on.”

Hmm. Ethan had nothing but nice things to say. However, the question was only about Ari, not the entire cast. Why wouldn’t he just take a moment to just sing her praises or address all those breakup rumors? You know his answer won’t quell those who believe he and Ariana are secretly over!
