One fan will never forget this amazing yet heartbreaking final moment with Liam Payne.
In a video posted to TikTok, Carola Guana tearfully claimed that she met the 31-year-old singer hours before he tragically passed away after jumping from the balcony of his 4th story room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. She even shared a picture of herself with the One Direction alum in the clip. Wow.
And what made this experience even more emotional for Carola? Not only did she get to talk with Liam, but she possibly was the last person to hear him sing. As Carola broke down in tears, she recalled:
“I was one of the last people to speak with Liam Payne. (I took this photo hours before his death). I’m making this video with a broken heart, I can’t believe it. He smiled at me and sang. I got goosebumps.”

Carola claimed the Strip That Down artist appeared intoxicated at the time they met. The toxicology report is pending at this time, and we may not get the results for a while. But as you may know, this is not the first time we have heard he was possibly under the influence that day. During a 911 call, the hotel’s chief receptionist, Esteban, asked the police to “urgently” come to the hotel as they were worried about Liam. He said the X-Factor UK alum was “under the influence of alcohol and drugs” and “in danger” because he was “in a room with a balcony.” Sadly, we all know what happened from there.
Before the tragedy happened, Carola said she “thought he was kind of joking.” She then added:
“I’m one of the last people he talked to. The ones he sang to. I went from having the happiest day of my life to one of the saddest. Understand that I still have his perfume on me. It seems crazy to me. I know he was famous and that he didn’t even care about me, but today I had a nice moment with him. How unfair!”
Our hearts just break for her. This is clearly so painful for Carola, but we know she’ll always treasure getting to hear him sing one last time. She has since deleted her video, but you can watch a clip of it (below):
