Dakota Fanning‘s latest movie, Houndog, is still stirring up some controversy.
The film has just been pulled from 5,117 AMC theaters nationwide.
The reason?
Apparently there’s too much criticism over Fanning’s rape scene.
The movie is described as “a drama set in the American South, where a precocious, troubled girl (Fanning) finds a safe haven in the music and movement of Elvis Presley.”
As of today, the flick premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and has only been viewed in about 11 theaters since being released on September 19th.
Hounddoug was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.
However, theatre chain execs are facing numerous boycotts from family valuez groups since Fanning was only 12 when the scene was shot and many are finding it too hard to watch.
But they probably haven’t even watched it! So how could you find it too hard to watch without actually watching it?????
