Fuller House is less than a day away from dropping on Netflix and we couldn’t be more excited.
Since the announcement that the show would be coming back in a new way, one of the biggest topics about the revival series has been the Olsen Twins not returning.
While most of the cast signed on, Mary-Kate and Ashley opted out, a sad fact at which John Stamos has thrown some shade, even joking he wanted Elizabeth Olsen to play the sisters’ role on Fuller House.

But how does the show address the noticeable absence? Stars Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin have opened up to Us Weekly about it!
We already knew that the Fuller House explains Michelle’s absence by mentioning she’s in New York to start her fashion line — an obvious nod to the twins’ real life business.
However, Bure revealed when her TV sis’ other business is mentioned, everyone in the Tanner family turns and looks directly at the camera. The actress explained:
“That actually wasn’t written in the script! We just sort of decided to do it for the writers and producers as we did our run-through. But it was so funny and so poignant that they kept it in! I mean, it’s a fun poke!”

Sweetin went on to say that the meta moment is not meant to be a jab:
“[It’s not] meant with any sort of malintent or anything. I think one of the things that I really like about Fuller House is, we always acknowledge who we are and what it is and what the legacy is, and we never take ourselves too seriously. I think that was one of those moments where we were like, ├óΓé¼╦£OK, we know ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ let’s put it out there, and get it over with.'”
As for the first day on set and reuniting with their costars, Candace said:
“I was so overwhelmed. I cried at different sets when I saw them. There’s just so many memories that are brought back, so it was really emotional. And it was for the first two weeks until I finally got settled in. And then it just became a part of me.”
The mother of three dished on the filming process too, saying:
“That first pilot episode was chaos, it took forever ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it was ridiculous. At some point, we’re like, ‘We have to work so we can go home.'”
Jodie added:
“Totally. We were like, ‘You guys have nowhere to be ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ we’ve got little ones now!'”
Awww!
Well, we’re glad the moms finally got though filming and can take a breather with their kids while we wait to watch their new show!
