After an emotional stint at the Rio Olympics last year, it was hard not to sense a rift between Gabby Douglas and the rest of the Final Five.
The 21-year-old was notably absent from the girls’ press tour due to “mouth surgery,” raising suspicions that she may be distancing herself from the rest of the squad.

And now we have a hint of confirmation that Gabs may not be as close to the rest of the group as she used to be, courtosity of a petty tweet from Simone Biles!
On Tuesday, Gabby tweeted about how much she loved her friend and their hilarious text convos, which apparently opened up a can of gold worms with her teammates.
Simone replied to Gabby’s tweet shortly after with a thinly-veiled dig, hinting that Gabby hadn’t been replying to any of the Final Five’s texts! She wrote:

Gabby temporarily defended herself on Twitter, posting (then deleting) messages saying that her phone does, in fact, work — and SHE was the one who wasn’t getting responses from the team:
