Last week, Game Of Thrones revealed a twist George R.R. Martin had been planning for over 20 years. This week, a mystery that’s been hanging in the air since season 1 was finally solved.

After Hodor sacrificed himself to save them, Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Meera (Ellie Kendrick) were left on their own running from the army of the dead — but not for long!

Fortunately, a dark rider fought off the wights before revealing himself to be… Benjen Stark, the long lost brother of Ned!
Apparently he was saved from an afterlife of icy torment by the Children of the Forest, who saved him from turning with the magic of dragonglass.
Now Bran and Meera have a new protector. And in Braavos, another Stark needs someone watching her back…
Arya (Maisie Williams) just can’t bring herself to poison the actress she’s been assigned to kill, so she retrieves her sword from its hiding place, signifying she’s given up on becoming an assassin forever.
And so Arya was once again reunited with Needle — but for how long, since she’s now become the next target of the Faceless Men?

Sam (John Bradley) brings Gilly (Hannah Murray) to meet his family, who are actually really sweet!
Oh, except for his father, who constantly talks down to Sam and even banishes him for bringing home a wildling girl…
Aw, and after she had her She’s All That moment getting a dress from his kid sis and everything! At least she looked cute…
As for Margaery (Natalie Dormer), the Tyrells and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) alike decide enough is enough and threaten to storm the church to keep her from doing her Walk of Atonement.
But it seems the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) doesn’t think she needs one; she’s fully repented, and convinces Tommen (Dean Charles-Chapman) to do the same!
As he joins the church, the little King exiles his “uncle” Jaime to go fight to the battle of Riverrun, which apparently still hasn’t been decided after all these seasons.
But the real fight is coming from the Mother of Dragons Danerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who not only has a whole army of Dothraki with her — she reminds them all why she’s the Khaleesi by riding her dragon once again!
Nothing HUGE happened, but darn that’s good filler.
