Game Of Thrones News: Emilia Clarke Reveals What 'Annoyed' Her About Finale As Another Star Reveals Coronavirus Diagnosis!

What really annoyed Emilia Clarke about Game Of Thrones finale

Still frustrated whenever the Game of Thrones ending crosses your mind? You’re not alone.

Emilia Clarke recently admitted that she, too, was a bit “annoyed” about certain aspects of the acclaimed HBO series’ finale — aspects that not so surprisingly involved the fate of her character Daenerys Targaryen.

In an interview with UK’s Sunday Times, the actress said she knew how she felt about the final moments of the series when she “first read” the script, and tried not to think too much about what the fans would think of it.

She explained:

“When the show did end, it was like coming out of a bunker. Everything felt really strange. Then obviously for it to have the backlash it did… I knew how I felt when I first read it, and I tried, at every turn, not to consider too much what other people might say, but I did always consider what the fans might think — because we did it for them, and they were the ones who made us successful, so … it’s just polite, isn’t it?”

Ah, spoken like a true Khaleesi. Well, a Khaleesi before she was corrupted by power, mental illness, and poorly paced storytelling.

Anyway, Clarke reflected on the people’s reaction to the not-as-acclaimed final season of the series, suggesting that the fans felt so betrayed because Thrones had become a show where viewers could expect near perfection.

The Emmy nominee added:

“I do think that the global temperature, how much horrific news there is consistently, goes a way to explain the enormity of the fans’ outrage. Because people are going, finally, here’s something I can actually see and understand and get some control back over … and then when that turns, and you don’t like what they’ve done…”

But did the Mother of Dragons like what they’d done?

When asked what she thought about Dany’s tragic ending with Kit Harington’s character, Jon Snow, Clarke said:

“Yeah, I felt for her. I really felt for her.”

The actress, who up to this point had spoken very carefully about the finale, added:

“And yeah, was I annoyed that Jon Snow didn’t have to deal with something? He got away with murder — literally.”

Preach, gurl.

Sure, Mr. Snow DID technically get exiled from society and was forced to flee to the northern wilderness for his crime. But let’s be honest: frolicking in the woods with Tormund Giantsbane isn’t exactly a punishment by Westeros standards.

Speaking of Tormund Giansbane… Clarke’s new comments come as her co-star, Kristofer Hivju, who played the formidable Wildling, revealed he was coronavirus positive.

The actor made the announcement in an Instagram post Monday, telling fans that he’s currently self-quarantining with his family in Norway. He wrote:

“Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold. There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country’s Center for Disease Control’s website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions.”

Yikes. Stay safe, everyone!
