This must be some much needed closure for George Michael‘s loved ones.
As you surely know, the entertainment industry lost another great legend when the former Wham! artist died unexpectedly in December. He was only 53-years-old.
Obviously, with the Faith singer’s death being so sudden, many people couldn’t help but wonder what exactly caused his passing. While George’s longtime manager, Michael Lippman, stated the A-lister died due to heart failure, a senior coroner has since released an official statement about Michael’s C.O.D.

The medical examiner, named Darren Salter, noted:
“Enquires into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post mortem report received. As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Myocarditis and Fatty Liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries. No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”
Well, that’s that.
Of course, we don’t blame people for inquiring about the hitmaker’s death as he suffered from health issues in recent years and also had a controversial history with drug use. Not to mention, after the musician’s initial autopsy, it was reported that the results were “inconclusive.”
Nonetheless, George did died from natural causes. In case you were unaware, a dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart which causes the muscles in the organ to become weaker. Thus, heart failure is common for those inflected with the disorder. So sad.
Thankfully, this update has seemingly given George’s boyfriend Fadi Fawaz some peace of mind as he took to Twitter and posted:
