Oh no! This sounds much more serious than we had originally anticipated!
George Michael was forced to cancel the remaining dates of his Symphonica tour after he was hospitalized in Vienna, Austria with pneumonia, but according to new reports, the illness is so serious that many members his family has flown out to be by his bedside!
Not only has 75-year-old father Jack Panos has been son’s side, but also the singer’s sisters Melanie, and Yioda, 53, as well as current boyfriend Fadi Fawaz, and even his ex, Kenny Goss!
A family friend explains:
“His whole family are with him. They are very close-knit. George is just such a lucky man in that sense. He├óΓé¼Γäós so adored. Kenny of course is very concerned. He has been in touch every day. They will always be the best of friends.”
And Dr. Christoph Zielinski and Dr. Thomas Staudinger, specialists in Vienna treating Michaels, issued the following statement yesterday:
“George Michael has severe community acquired pneumonia and is being treated as an inpatient. His condition has stabilized and he is responding to treatment. From the current point of view, the time until recovery cannot be estimated, but he will not be able to perform the rest of the tour. Besides medical treatment, complete rest and peace and quiet are mandatory.”
Poor thing!
And how vague everyone seems to be regarding the length of his recovery is only that much more nerve-wracking!
But we’re happy to hear that so many of his loved ones are with him during such a frightening, difficult time!
