Romance can be difficult for single parents. But for Gwen Stefani, everything has fallen perfectly into place with her country crooner beau.
She and Blake Shelton met doing The Voice and are finally reuniting onscreen, albeit at war with one another, this season.
So to promote the series, Gwen stopped by the Today show on Monday where Hoda Kotb and guest host Andy Cohen grilled her on her unexpected relationship.

Probably the most important question of all? How is he with the kids??
Gwen happily gushed:
“He is a good dad, actually. He’s been helping me out a lot, so I literally get to the point where I’m like, ‘You gotta get home, I need help.’ It’s hard. I got three boys.”
We love the idea of a music and TV star being ordered back home to help out with the kids.
Gwen has three sons, 13-year-old Kingston, 11-year-old Zuma, and 5-year-old Apollo, with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
Rossdale helps out also, telling Us Weekly back in May about their coparenting success:
“You know, we both manage to feed them and get them to school on time, more or less! They are doing really good. They’re really happy, and that’s it. We’re doing the best we can.”
However, with three boys it must be great to have that extra pair of hands.
But it’s more than just cooking or cleaning for Blake. A source told ET:
“Gwen and Blake do so many fun activities with the boys and Blake plays with them like a big kid. He seriously enjoys doing things with the kids like going to the movies, fishing, camping, and teaching them to horseback ride and boating.”
Aww! That’s so cute! He totally does seem like a big kid!
Though we suppose not to Gwen. Nor to Hoda, whom Andy tried to embarrass by spilling about her crush on the God’s Country singer.
Gwen already knew ALL about it. She said:
“It’s OK, because I relate. He’s a magical person… I actually am so obsessed with Blake Shelton that I went back and I watched old interviews between you guys because I’m so fascinated that he was alive back then; I didn’t know him.”
Aw, cute!
On the fact the singer of No Doubt ended up with a country star, she just marveled at how funny it all is:
“Life is full of surprises. I just never thought in my wildest dreams, on paper, a cowboy and a ska-like girl from Anaheim would be hanging out, but it works perfect and we’re just having so much fun and we just feel so blessed to be at this point in our lives.”
