Harvey Weinstein has been arrested on rape charges.
It’s a pleasure to inform you that the disgraced filmmaker turned himself in to the NYPD on Friday, where he will be charged with a sex crime. According to Manhattan prosecutors, Weinstein will be charged with first and third-degree rape in one case and a first-degree sex act in a second case.
One victim is Lucia Evans, who says the 66-year-old forced her to perform oral sex during a meeting at his office in 2004. The other victim has yet to be identified.

His bond is expected to be set at $2 million, according to CNN.
As you know, dozens of women from around the country and the world have come forward with accusations that they were sexually harassed or raped by Weinstein, a flood of allegations that reignited the #MeToo movement.
TMZ also reports that prosecutors are possibly looking to see if Harvey violated the Mann Act, which prohibits people from taking others across state lines with the intent of engaging in illegal sexual acts. If that’s the case, they would have to prove that he intended to perform the sex act before traveling with the victim.
We’ll keep you updated as Harvey is expected to be in court today.
