Hayden Panettiere is back on social media after a lengthy hiatus — and she’s serving us some Scream 4 realness!
On Tuesday, the 30-year-old returned to Twitter for the first time in almost 10 months to debut a punky new hairstyle. The pic showed Panettiere with a short ‘do that featured a partially shaved side and a silver-grey hue.

Horror fans will remember Payten sported a similar look when she played film geek Kirby Reed in the fourth Scream flick back in 2010. The star gave a shout out to the fan-favorite character in her post, writing alongside the pic:

Hayden’s been MIA from the social site since February, when she shared a pic from a Duke basketball game.
Offline, however, the star’s year has been quite eventful: in May, her ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. While he pleaded not guilty and was released on $50,000 the same day of his arrest, the judge issued a protective order stating that he had to stay 100 yards away from the Nashville alum.
The pair temporarily called it quits in June, and the case against Hickerson was dropped in September, as was the protective order against him. At the time, a spokesperson for the LA District Attorney’s Office told ET:
“The case against Brian Hickerson was dismissed without prejudice today. Our office was unable to proceed because we could not secure a material witness. The protective order also was dismissed.”
The statement suggested Hayden was either unable or unwilling to testify against her boyfriend.
Over Thanksgiving weekend 2019, Hickerson posted pictures from the holiday showing himself hanging alongside Hadyen at home with a bunch of friends, making it clear the two were back together — despite the fact that their loved ones apparently want them to split.
As we reported, Hayden’s ex Wladimir Klitschko has grown increasingly concerned over his baby momma’s relationship with the 30-year-old. A source told Us Weekly:
“Vlad was so in love with Hayden that he looks the other way with regard to some things, but Brian has tested Vlad’s patience and kindness.”
Even Hickerson’s family is said to be “extremely concerned” about his “toxic” relationship with the mother-of-one. A separate Us source previously dished:
“Brian’s family is extremely concerned for his safety when he is with Hayden. They are terrified that Brian will once again find himself accused of domestic violence. Hayden and Brian are very toxic for each other.”
Yeesh.
At least her hair looks cool!
