On Wednesday, it was revealed that TV Land is planning to reboot the ’80s cult classic Heathers… but as a comedy anthology. Umm, YAS!
Apparently, the new show plans on putting a modern spin on the Winona Ryder and Christian Slater-led fan favorite where the heroine Veronica Sawyer takes on a new crew of mean girls.

In fact, it’s said that the “outcasts” are the school bullies this time. Mind blown!
This reboot is being written by Butter writer Jason Micallef and will be helmed by Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi, who will serve as the executive producers. Color us impressed!
In case you forgot, in the original version, Miz Ryder’s character becomes so fed up with the bullying antics of her friends and peers that she pairs up with bad boy J.D. (originally played by Slater) to take matters into their own murderous hands. Watch out Scream Queens, a new show may be coming for your demographic!
We can’t say we are entirely shocked by this news, as the movie’s niche audience grew in reason years thanks to the musical version of the dramedy!
Oh, we HOPE the two former leads come back for a cameo appearance. Fingers crossed!
