Now that it is official that co-executors John Branca and John McClain control the Jackson estate, they’re coming out strong against vendors who are selling unauthorized Michael Jackson merchandise.
That means the guy on the corner of Hollywood and Highland with the box of five buck MJ shirts better go run and hide because these guys are gunning for them! They want the money or, according to a statement this morning, they want the money for Jackson’s kids:
“The sale of unauthorized Michael Jackson merchandise is illegal and provides nothing for the beneficiaries of his estate, namely his mother, his children and charitable causes that were important to him.”
It was also reported 9.5 million Jackson songs were illegally swapped during the week ending July 16.
Damn! We think those co-executors better start worrying about this more so than the merchandise. That’s 9.5 million dollars lost in the download market!
