They say no good deed goes unpunished. And now a Texas man knows just how true that is after being held by police for giving some spare change to a homeless person!
What the WHAT?!?
Greg Snider was in his car in downtown Houston when a man approached him, looking for money.
Snider says he gave him 75 cents and drove away. Moments later though, he was being pulled over by the police!
Greg explained how one officer got aggressive with him on the side of the road, saying:
“He’s screaming. He’s yelling. He’s telling me to get out of the car. He’s telling me to put my hands on the hood├óΓé¼┬ªThey’re like, ‘We saw you downtown. We saw what you did.├óΓé¼Γäó And I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? I gave a homeless man 75 cents.├óΓé¼Γäó”
Greg was reportedly dragged out of his car and handcuffed while nearly a dozen more cops soon showed up to investigate what they assumed was a drug deal!
Police proceeded to search Greg’s car for almost an HOUR and even brought in a drug-sniffing dog!
They found absolutely nothing.
Snider says he was released by the officers, who were actually laughing about their mistake!
Greg doesn’t find it so funny though and has filed a complaint with internal affairs for the damages caused to his vehicle!
Wow. Just…wow.
We’d expect this out of Andy Samberg on an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine but not in real life! Way to go, Houston PD, for keeping the Good Samaritans of your city in check!
