Large Wave Pulls Couple Off Beach, Only One Survives...

no title
This is as terrifying as it is terrible.
A couple in San Francisco was enjoying the unseasonably warm February weather at the beach on Tuesday when a large wave carried them out to sea.
At first, the elderly woman was pulled off of the Pacifica beach at around 2 p.m. PST, but luckily knew to go with the current and remained afloat until she was pulled back into shore.
Unfortunately, the 60-year-old man she was with was not as lucky as he tried to fight the waves after going in after her.

Witnesses say Larry Moore almost made it to land multiple times, but the steep, sudden 7-foot dropoff made it practically impossible to save himself.
The Coast Guard eventually pulled the man out of the water at about 3:20 p.m. and brought both of the pair to a nearby hospital, where Larry was pronounced dead.
There’s no word on the identity or condition of the woman he was with, but she’s believed to be stable since she was underwater for far less time.
Our thoughts are with Larry’s family and friends at this difficult time.
