Hugh Jackman‘s ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness is furious with his besties for keeping her in the dark amid his alleged affair with Sutton Foster. Oof!
As Perezcious readers know, after nearly 30 years together, Hugh and Deb called it quits last year, announcing their divorce online. Things seemed really amicable at first, and sources blamed the separation on relationship struggles impacted by COVID and the SAG strike. But a few months ago, a new version of the story emerged, and it was a LOT juicier!

It was reported that Hugh had been having a potentially years-long affair with his Broadway co-star Sutton Foster! And guess what? She just filed for divorce from her husband Ted Griffin, too! Messy!!
While the infidelity was apparently common knowledge among those in the theater world, Deb was the last to know, which has obviously caused her a lot of hurt. But she’s not just pissed at her ex and his other woman — Hugh’s bestie Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively are on her s**t list, too!
According to RadarOnline.com, Deborra-Lee is “seething with rage” that the Hollywood power couple didn’t fill her in on the affair chatter. An insider claimed she discovered the Deadpool star and It Ends With Us lead “could sense something was brewing between Hugh and Sutton Foster” — and yet they did nothing! The source spilled:
“But they kept their lips sealed out of loyalty to Hugh. Despite their longtime relationship with Deb, they chose to cover for him! Now she is seething with rage over being the last to know about the clandestine affair. Deb feels blindsided. She has a memory like a steel trap and isn’t afraid to use it!”
Oof!
Once Hugh and Ryan became besties in the early 2000s, the couples would often hang out and go out to dinner together. But as Hugh’s romance with Sutton started to blossom during their The Music Man gig from 2021 to 2023, the dynamic changed — supposedly because everyone was catching on to Hugh’s secret. The source continued:
“Debs feels cheated by all three because someone could have told her what was happening and they all chose to keep their mouths shut.”
It sux to realize you’re not the priority in your friend group. Because of all this betrayal, The Greatest Showman star is now “bracing himself” for a battle of his fortune since his ex is “lawyering up” in light of the affair revelation. A legal source shed some light on what could happen next, saying:
“The starting point for any divorce without a prenup is 50% of all the assets and cash so Hugh could be in for a big payout to Deborra. He’s bracing himself for a legal onslaught because it now seems that there was some crossover in his relationships with Sutton and Deborra. Things could get very ugly, and very expensive, very quickly.”
FWIW, last year, an insider told the National Enquirer, per Radar Online, the couple did not have a prenup but that Hugh was willing to be generous with his $100 million fortune — if Deb signed an NDA. It’s unclear if she did.
Either way, none of this is stopping the actor from pursuing things with his new woman, though they are trying to keep things on the down low. An insider for OK! shared that the lovebirds are trying to keep the romance quiet out of respect for Deb (and probably Ted too), noting on Friday:
“They’ve been hiding their relationship from the outside world for so long, sneaking around, living apart, but there will come a time when they’ll want to come out as a couple. Soon, they may start testing the waters.”
As for why Hugh’s been so silent on the matter, the confidant added:
“He doesn’t want the negative publicity. Or to humiliate Deb. Hugh cares for Deb a great deal. She’s the mother of his children.”
And yet he allegedly cheated on her and then kept her in the dark?? That’s not caring for her at all! SMH.
