Want your phone to explode? Hell, you don’t even need an app for that aparently!
Some folks traveling in Australia this Thanksgiving were treated to a not so welcomed surprise when a passengers Apple iPhone exploded on the decent into Sydney.
According to the report by the airline, Regional Express, no one was hurt from the incident, but it was very alarming to watch the smartphone begin to emit “a significant amount of dense smoke” while also glowing red.
The official statement from the airline reads:
“Regional Express (Rex) flight ZL319 operating from Lismore to Sydney (on November 25) had an occurrence after landing, when a passenger’s mobile phone started emitting a significant amount of dense smoke, accompanied by a red glow. In accordance with company standard safety procedures, the flight attendant carried out recovery actions immediately and the red glow was extinguished successfully.”
Wow. That really sucks. Imagine you’re sitting next to the person who’s phone is exploding during a flight? In this day and age, we don’t know one person who wouldn’t lose their mind in fear!
Ugh! Watch now we’re not going to be allowed to carry smartphones on planes anymore!
