Here's What Tommy Wiseau Would've Said At The Golden Globes Had James Franco Not Mic-Blocked Him

So close, but so far!
Nothing could more accurately describe the moment Tommy Wiseau stormed the Golden Globes stage after James Franco won Best Actor for portraying the oddball filmmaker in The Disaster Artist.
After Franco’s name was called, Wiseau bolted from the far back of the room to meet James and his little brother/costar Dave Franco onstage — and headed straight for the microphone.
You could almost hear everyone in the room cheering him on! This was finally his moment of glory!

But alas, Wiseau was mic-blocked by a grinning Franco at the last second, and the world was denied what could have been the best acceptance speech of all time.
Needless to say, everyone (including Seth Rogen) was wondering just what The Room star would have said had he gotten the chance. Speaking to the LA Times, Wiseau said his message would have been:

“If a lot of people loved each other, the world would be a better place to live.”

V profound, Tommy. Though we think the crowd would have preferred something more like, “Oh hai, Oprah!”

As for Franco’s portrayal of him, Wiseau only had glowing things to say — except when it came to the Globe winner’s ability to throw a football. He continued:

“[James] did such a great job, talking as a director and an actor. I think he make a big effort, which sometimes from the outside is extremely difficult to understand that. He did good with accent. His brother Dave did good as well. They really studied character. But he doesn’t know how to throw football, that’s for sure!”

Speech or no, Wiseau was finally able to be a part of Hollywood ceremony he always dreamed of — a dream, he said, that anyone can attain. He added:

“See ├óΓé¼╦£The Room,’ have fun, and enjoy life. The American Dream is alive, and it’s real.”

Honestly, we would’ve preferred a rambling speech from Tommy over James comparing himself and Dave to the Coen Brothers. But as we know, Hollywood can be a cruel place.
