Jana Kramer still hasn’t been able to mend the fences with one of her old One Tree Hill co-stars — even though years have passed since their drama on set!
During an episode of her Whine Down podcast on Tuesday, the 41-year-old actress opened up to her guest and former co-star Kate Voegele about how she thinks a female cast member does not like her to this day! OMG! Which one? It is obviously not Kate! Could it be Sophia Bush? Bethany Joy Lenz? Jana did not say. Whoever she is, though, the singer has avoided her as much as possible ever since! She said:
“I still don’t think one girl likes me on the show. And so, I always just, like, try to stay away, even at conventions, ‘cause I’m like, ‘Ah!’”
Yeesh! FYI, Jana joined OTH in Season 7 — just after Hilarie Burton left. So, she’s likely not mixed up in this.

Kate, on the other hand, doesn’t feel there is actually bad blood between Jana and their mystery co-star! She insisted the drama was “totally made up.” Hmm. Jana previously said one cast member “made it hell for us” on set “because if we chose the wrong friend, we would be destroyed.” So, she certainly felt like there was tension with someone!
Whether that is the case or not, the podcast host plans to double-check with her estranged castmate! The mother of three shared that she was “going to slide into her DM[s] and just be like, ‘Are we cool?’” Direct and to the point. We like it! Jana added:
“We don’t have to be friends. That’s the thing — I’ve realized now we don’t have to be friends, but there doesn’t need to be any awkwardness.”
If the two want to join the upcoming One Tree Hill reboot, it is better to squash the beef now! The last thing anyone wants is a repeat of the on-set drama! Fortunately, the group won’t have creator and executive producer Mark Schwahn present to stir things up this time. He is a reason for a lot of rifts on the show as he pitted the women against each other, among other things, including the one between Jana and her unidentified female co-star.
The Whiskey artist made the confession while talking with Kate about the best and worst parts of being on the series, which led the 38-year-old musician to bring up Schwahn. He is, of course, a low for the two women! Kate, who portrayed Mia Catalano on Seasons 5 through 8, recalled dealing a lot with “predatorial issues with our boss,” elaborating:
“One of the things this person did the most was try to really sow discord, especially among the women. So, I felt like I was constantly being told from the person who hired me for this job, like, ‘This girl doesn’t like you.’ I was terrified of rocking the boat or, like, upsetting anyone. … The first two seasons, five and six, I felt extremely isolated.”
Oof.
Eventually, Kate decided to confront those who she was told didn’t like her:
“[I was like,] ‘If they hate me, they can tell me to my face.’ And no one ever did because, of course, all of that was made up to puppeteer everyone and somehow control, I don’t know.”
For her part, Jana remembers going through a similar drama with Shantel VanSanten:
“That was one of the ones that he tried to pit. And I’m just like, ‘What did I do?’ And she’s like, ‘What? He said this.’ And I was like, ‘No.’ And then, we became best friends.”
So, she is still not on bad terms with Shantel — the model is out of the running! We wonder who it could be then?? Hmm. Whoever the co-star is, we hope she and Jana can finally end the tension between them once and for all!
