Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini are finally getting over their long-standing beef — and it’s all thanks to their divorces!
Opening up on Wednesday about the pair’s rocky friendship, an Us Weekly insider explained that they have recently started to make amends as they both deal with breakups:
“J.Lo and Leah reconnected recently.”

Apparently, the performers had a “long heart-to-heart” and “couldn’t believe they were both in the middle of a divorce.” That unexpected connection really helped them see eye to eye again, the source said:
“Leah and J.Lo bonded over the shared experience. And [they] are in the beginning of rekindling their friendship.”
That’s so good to hear!
As Perezcious readers know, Ben Affleck filed for divorce on August 20 after months of estrangement from his wife. Leah then did the same, filing for a split from her husband Angelo Pagán just 9 days later. Wild timing!
The ladies first met back in 2004 while J.Lo was dating Marc Anthony, and they instantly hit it off, even going on to work together — such as on the 2018 film Second Act. But signs of a rift first popped up during Bennifer’s August wedding in 2022. You know, the big lavish ceremony that Leah ditched! Sources downplayed the snub at the time, insisting Leah was merely spending time with her daughter before she headed off to college. Understandable… but… then a Radar source came out to claim the actresses had “hit a rough patch” in their friendship — over a fight about Ben!
The ex-Scientologist was reportedly not supportive of the romance, particularly because of how hurt J.Lo had gotten by their former failed engagement. We’ve since heard that many of Jennifer’s friends didn’t like her husband — so, it’s not shocking to think they could have fought over this.
That said, more recently, insiders have claimed that the Good Will Hunting alum wasn’t the only thing that tore them apart. On the Deux U podcast in June, DeuxMoi said they also butted heads after their 2018 film because the pop star didn’t like how the King of Queens alum “milked it for all it was worth.” The insider claimed that while they were “very good friends,” they weren’t as close as Leah was making it seem. The confidant noted she “was never J.Lo’s number one best friend” and Jen “always had an inner circle that didn’t include Leah.” So, it’s safe to say that things got a little messy for the friends!
But now that they’re both dealing with similar heartbreak in the public eye, it’s nice to hear that the ice is starting to thaw!! They need people to lean on right now! While Leah has publicly addressed her split, Jenny from the Block has not. The source said this was on purpose because “[she wants] to move forward with dignity.” Hopefully, it sure sounds like this next chapter of her life will be more peaceful on all fronts! Reactions?
