Jenny Slate Was Just Asked About It Ends With Us Controversy, And...

Jenny Slate has nothing more to say about the It Ends With Us drama.

Despite being very vocal in support of her co-star Blake Lively when she first brought forward allegations against Justin Baldoni, Jenny no longer wants to comment on the ongoing legal battle.

The actress is now making the press rounds to promote her new FX show Dying for Sex, which will be out early next month. She chatted with The Hollywood Reporter for a new story out on Thursday — and she was very clear she wouldn’t be spilling ANY tea!

When asked to compare what it was like making It Ends With Us and Dying for Sex, which she started filming shortly after the Colleen Hoover film, she said candidly:

“I don’t have anything to say about that.”

Wow! Y’all catch how fast she shut that down? She heard It Ends and was like NOPE! She couldn’t find something uncontroversial to say? She didn’t even take a Brandon Sklenar approach and gush about the impact of the film while avoiding the controversy! She just straight-up wants nothing to do with it! Jenny did, however, elaborate a little bit more on her silent stance, adding:

“Everything is its own thing. I poured my heart into this work, and every minute of [Dying for Sex] was important to me, and I just want to talk about that.”

When the outlet wondered how she planned to get through the rest of her press tour while likely dealing with these kind of questions, the 42-year-old dished:

“Anyone can ask anything, but my only responsibility is to speak about the work I’m there to promote. It was so important to me to get this job, so why would I spend time talking about anything but that?”

Fair! But also a HARD STANCE!

Let’s not forget that it’s probably a pretty touchy subject for her. THR already claimed Jenny was one of two women on set (aside from Blake) who spoke up about mistreatment on the DV drama. Jenny allegedly had a problem with Justin’s producing partner Jamey Heath, who made her feel “uncomfortable” after he tried helping her with a housing issue. The comedian reportedly didn’t make a formal complaint but word got back to Sony, the movie’s distributor, and Wayfarer anyway. She has yet to speak publicly about the claims.

While she’s avoiding the drama now, she previously supported Blake’s lawsuit, saying in part:

“What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”

Blake’s legal team has insisted that the anonymous actresses who spoke out about issues on set are willing to testify, so that could also be another reason Jenny doesn’t want to talk about the case or filming experience at this time. She still has to deal with it in private, but otherwise, it seems like she just wants to move on and not let this cloud her next project. Can’t blame her. She wasn’t the one who came forward about her complaints, anyway. Doesn’t seem like it was ever her intention to get dragged further into this mess!
