Jessica Alba & Cash Warren Had ‘Trust Issues' -- This Isn't 'First Time' They've Considered Splitting!

When news broke a week ago that Jessica Alba and Cash Warren had broken up, jaws dropped! No one had this couple — who have been together for 20 years — as the first celebrity divorce news of 2025! So, it makes you wonder: What went wrong?

From what we’re hearing, this split was not out of the blue, as it seemed to many! They had a rocky marriage for a long time! According to a source for Us Weekly on Wednesday, Jessica and Cash “have had many ups and downs as any marriage would after being together for so many years.” Um, who hasn’t??

But when the pair went through a rough patch in the past, they attempted to work things out! The source shared:

“They have tried therapy and have worked out past issues over the years.”

However, their marriage problems got so bad they have considered splitting before! As the insider said, this wasn’t the “first time” Cash and Jessica thought about breaking up amid “issues” with one another. Like what? Just like exes Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, they struggled with “trust issues.” The source explained:

“There were trust issues in the past which led to many arguments.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about problems in their relationship! In fact, Jessica and Cash didn’t just think about breaking up! They actually DID years ago! Cash revealed on the Whine Down podcast in 2023 that he began “feeling jealous all the time” due to the attention she got from other guys when they started dating in 2004. Jessica was at the height of her fame in the early 2000s, starring in massive films like Fantastic Four, covering magazines such as Maxim, and more. So, the girl got A LOT of attention at the time, partially of the male variety. That can be a lot for an insecure/jealous guy to handle…

While the former producer dealt with it for a few years, they eventually broke up four years after their relationship began because he was “turning into an a**hole” over the matter! That meant they broke up around 2008. Innerestingly, they got married in May 2008 and had their daughter Honor on June 7, 2008. So, they must have split while Jessica was pregnant! Wow! Cash really meant it when he said he was being an a**hole…

Well, he and Jessica managed to get through that bump in their relationship. However, it sounds like they continued to have trouble in paradise after that. And even though the duo put in the effort to save the marriage, they just couldn’t make it work in the end. The source noted that ultimately, “the romance was gone between them,” adding:

“The marriage ran its course. Their communication hadn’t been great.”

Damn…

Despite their marriage ending, they’re determined to keep things amicable and remain a solid team for their kids, Honor, Haven, and Hayes:

“They are good parents and partners in business together but lost their spark and grew apart. Jessica and Cash made the decision together that this was no longer working or healthy for anyone.”

It’s better to get out than stay in an unhappy marriage! Including for the kids! And it’s not like they didn’t try, it’s been 20 years! At least they gave it their best shot!

For Jessica’s part, the source said her “priorities shifted” once she stepped down as The Honest Company’s Chief Creative Officer in April 2024:

“It opened her eyes. She is a really strong woman and wants to be the best example for her kids. The kids are their priority right now and they will be cordial while coparenting. It isn’t messy behind the scenes at all.”

Hopefully, it stays that way — especially once they file and start talking about the finances
