Jim Edmonds is trying to catch a break — or, at least a few fish!
The former MLB star and current soon-to-be ex-husband of reality TV star Meghan King Edmonds has chosen to go “off the grid” this week in a bid to stay away from all the salacious gossip and dramatic events that have come about around the pair’s ill-fated relationship.

On Monday evening, the former St. Louis Cardinals center fielder posted a pic to Instagram showing his daughter Hayley, 22, sitting on board a fishing boat with a beer in hand. As you can see (below), he alluded to his current family troubles as part of the message to fans:
We certainly get it — sometimes you’ve just gotta get away!
Especially when things are as contentious as they’ve been recently for the former baseball star and his estranged Real Housewives of Orange County wife.

Most recently, Jim made it a point to physically move out of the couple’s house and into his own place — a sure-fire sign that the separation was likely going to be a fiery one. He’d also been taking care of the couple’s three young children, including one-year-old twins Hayes and Hart, but now Meghan is back in town and on diaper duty, apparently leaving Jim to head out into the ocean.
The former left-handed power hitter deciding to go “off the grid” with adult daughter Hayley (from his first marriage) is telling, too. As you’ll recall, she was the one who publicly defended Jim — and blasted Meghan — several weeks ago when the couple’s divorce drama first bubbled up to the surface. Multiple times since then the two have spent quality father-daughter time together, and they’re clearly relying on each other to get through a difficult period in their lives.
Honestly, whatever’s going on here, we’re just glad the cops haven’t gotten involved again. So long as these two can co-parent civilly enough to ensure their children are safe and sound, the rest will take care of itself. We hope…
