Joe Jonas Speaks Out On Sophie Turner's Shocking Move To END Mediation & Ask Judge For Custody Decision!

Joe Jonas Responds Sophie Turner Divorce Mediation Failed

Sophie Turner wanted her say in a court of law — and now Joe Jonas wants his in the court of public opinion!

As we reported early Tuesday morning, the peace talks have failed. No more mediation. The Game Of Thrones actress filed new court docs in Florida’s Miami-Dade County asking a judge to reactivate the couple’s divorce proceedings. Specifically, the 28-year-old actress wants the judge to hammer out a full child custody agreement that both she and Joe can abide by going forward.

The estranged couple shares daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 20 months, and they’re trying to figure out a co-parenting plan they can set in stone for the long haul. They had previously gone into mediation about it, which was a good sign. But now with Sophie’s new court filing, it’s clear mediation has stalled! So she wants a judge to order a permanent decision!

Now, hours after Sophie’s filing first bubbled up in the news, the Jonas Brothers star is having his say! But instead of responding in court, he’s responding publicly. A rep for the 34-year-old singer sent a statement on Us Weekly late Tuesday morning regarding the new filing:

“The filing was a legal formality, and the couple continues to negotiate an amicable resolution.”

Amicable, eh? Then why not complete it in mediation? Hmm…

We hope there is indeed an amicable resolution here. As we noted in our earlier report, a move back into court means divorce deets can be public. Had they mediated, things could remain fully private. Not that privacy is the only concern, of course; the biggest worry is the well-being of their two daughters. So, whether the co-parenting schedule is made via mediation or divorce court, we just hope the end result works out for Willa and Delphine. Thus far, that hasn’t exactly been the case

We mean, remember before the mediation? This was getting messy. We really hope it doesn’t revert to those days. Thoughts, y’all??
