What’s in a name anyway? An Idina Menzel by any other name would still sound as sweet as her performance of Let It Go did on Oscar Sunday!
By now we all know how John Travolta Don Gibraltar mispronounced Idina’s name as Adele Dazeem, and that earlier today, John released a statement apologizing for the unfortunate flub.
But it seems like Idina has no hard feelings over her new nomenclature.
In fact, according to a Oscar insider, Idina actually gave John a hug backstage after her performance:
“She laughed it off. She thought it was so funny. She was like, ‘What are you going to do?’…The Oscars were a dream come true for Idina. She wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of that.”
And she didn’t! Sunday provided all our ear holes with the best rendition of this year’s Best Song!
Additionally, another source dished on how John pronounced her name perfectly at the rehearsal on Saturday:
“He knew how to say her name. No one knows what happened. Maybe nerves just got the best of him.”
Well, don’t worry John. Water under the bridge, and if there happens to be an aspiring singer by the actual name of Adele Dazeem you probably just made her career.
